Longtime readers of this magazine will recognize the 12 Healthy Habits approach to better health, outlined in our column of the same name over the past two years. The simple idea is that small changes in habits can, over time, result in dramatic change. Now, a book lays out the program in more than 350 pages, with hundreds of new tips and 250-plus recipes that support 10 food goals (which include “Eat Breakfast Daily,” “Eat More Healthy Fats,” and “Be Portion-Aware.”) There are also two fitness goals, built around aerobic exercise and strength-building.
For those who want to kick off the new year with a bit of structure, the book includes a six-week plan that offers daily meal suggestions. Above all, it presents a balanced approach, complete with appetizers, snacks, desserts, and even cocktails.
