The Best Recipe in the May Issue

Chocolate Tacos with Ice Cream and Peanuts

Our highest-rated recipe from the May issue was our Chocolate Tacos with Ice Cream and Peanuts (page 96 of the paper edition).

Sidney Fry, Assistant Editor, Nutrition had this to say: “Move over, ice cream man. There’s a bigger, better, more chocolaty treat in town!”

Have you tried this treat? Let us know what you think of it in the comments.

I just got through with my attempt at this recipe. The chocolate mixture was about impossible to spread…I ended up using a greased rolling pin to roll out the shells apparently 6 minutes in my oven was a little too much time as there was no way to drape these things over a wooden spoon handle to make the shape of a taco shell. We are having chocolate tostadas instead

I tried this and failed miserably. The chocolate wouldn’t spread very well for the first baking, and what was left in the bowl for the 2nd baking was too hard to use. What do you suppose happened? I thought this would be a great cinco de mayo dessert . . . . sigh
