February’s Most Popular Recipes on Pinterest

February is always a bit of a challenge for me on the food front. One day I’m craving a warm, comforting stew; the next I want fresh spring strawberries and asparagus. It looks like our Pinterest followers are encountering the same challenge. Sprinkle in a few popular chocolate pins (for Valentine’s Day, of course), and February was an interesting month on Pinterest. Here are our top five re-pinned recipes this month.

Hot Chocolate Fudge Cakes

1. Hot Chocolate Fudge Cakes: By far our top re-pinned recipe of the month, these warm-from-the-oven, gooey chocolate desserts are the perfect grand finale for any celebration—especially Valentine’s Day.

Baked Pasta with Spinach, Lemon, and Cheese

2. Baked Pasta with Spinach, Lemon, and Cheese: Here’s some winter comfort food for you. Fresh lemon zest adds a delicious zing to simple baked pasta.

Asparagus with Balsamic Tomatoes

3. Asparagus with Balsamic Tomatoes: And here’s that hint of spring we’re all craving. In this 20-minute side dish, crisp-tender asparagus is topped with warm balsamic grape tomatoes and tangy goat cheese.

4. Chocolate Baklava: This is a simply amazing recipe—layers of crisp phyllo interspersed with mixed nuts and hazelnut-chocolate spread, with just enough butter to enhance the flavor yet keep the sat fat low. It’s no wonder it made its way to the top this month.

5. Banana-Agave Smoothie: Combining bananas and blueberries with creamy, fat-free yogurt and a hint of agave nectar makes for a rich and satisfying smoothie that’s packed with vitamins and antioxidants.
