Wow! One-Ingredient Honey Taffy

Some of the best ideas are born from mistakes. That’s what happened when I (a recipe developer and tester here at Cooking Light by day and beekeeper in my off time) tried to make a honey version of a maple sugar product I saw online. I figured honey and maple syrup have similar qualities, so I thought I might be able to turn honey into a solid cube. After cooking the golden liquid awhile, though, the honey was still too soft. I let it cool and just started messing with it.

I pulled and stretched the honey and discovered that it worked itself into a creamy-chewy taffy, a delicious one-ingredient treat. Because the honey cooks for some time, it reduces down a bit, intensifying its flavor.     Becky: Don’t bother to give me a recipe if you don’t provide a way to print it. It is just terribly annoying!!! I love you magazine and your recipes. But will not go on line if all you do is tease.

    To print the recipe, pause the video and then just take a screen shot. I use a mac so the commands are command-shift-4. Saves to my desktop. Easy.

    if you pause the video while the recipe is on the screen you can hit your print screen button (usually to the right of you F12 key) and then paste it as a photo into MS Word or other program.

    Just an FYI, VIDEO SAYS TO CHILL 20 minutes but the recipe says to chill 10 minutes. Does it make any difference??

    Recipe is at the end of the video and you have to pause it to read. The video is helpful but it would have been nice if the recipe could be printed.
