When I think of pre-made granola and oatmeal, red flags typically go off in my head. Many times, they’re packed with artificial sweeteners, so I’ve made the decision to opt out of those breakfast choices altogether. However, there’s a new kid in (breakfast) town, and I’m back in the pre-made business. If you’re looking for a satisfying and flavorful breakfast for mornings on-the-go, look no further.
I was presented with two different flavor options of Kellogg’s new Origins Museli and several ways to prepare them. I went the warm route with the Fruit & Seed choice, and it tasted just like oatmeal. Hearty and filling, this oatmeal-like muesli hit the spot.
I had never tried “Swiss style” muesli, and I was intrigued when I saw that prep option on the back of the bag. The night before I enjoyed the Fruit & Nut flavor, I poured some in a jar, added some coconut milk, and stuck it in the fridge. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised at the result! I don’t know a bigger coconut fan than myself, so this one was right up my alley. The coconut flakes were ever-so-prominent, and the texture created by the coconut milk made it like cereal that had been taken to a whole new playing field. Having it all in one jar made it a delightful breakfast choice for a morning on the run.
