At Commonwealth Coffee Roasters a cup of coffee is never just a cup of coffee. Each sip is a welcome into a community that Commonwealth founders Jason Farrar and Ryan Fisher value nearly as much as the coffee they roast. While their carefully sourced beans and meticulously prepared drinks are important for Jason and Ryan, sharing their coffee with others and creating an amazing customer experience is what they truly love. The pair sample hundreds of beans from across the world to select the handful that they will roast and serve to their tight community of customers both in their home base of Denver, Colorado and beyond.

Traveling from southern Ethiopia, from one of the most famous coffee growing regions in the world, Commonwealth’s Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Dumerso washed coffee offers up a true taste of place. Growers pick the bright red coffee cherries (the fruit that coffee beans come from) only when they are ripest, process them with the utmost care, then send them to Colorado to be roasted. The resulting coffee is well developed, sweet, and clean, with tastes of lemon-lime soda, blackberry, sweet basil, and milk chocolate. Pour a cup and enjoy it the way Ryan does, with a good snack and good company.

Commonwealth Coffee Roasters is a proud member of the Good Food Merchants Guild and their Kenya Nyeri Gachatha and Panama Carmen Estate Washed Geisha coffees are Finalists in this year’s Good Food Awards. The winners will be announced on January 15.
